రవి, ప్రసాదు తీసుకున్న ఈ నిర్ణయం ఎంతో కొనియాడదగ్గది. నెట్లో తెలుగు వ్యాప్తికి ఇది ఎంతో దోహదపడే చర్య. వారిద్దరినీ పొద్దు అభినందిస్తూంది.

It is not easy to prepare a font.
There are three major steps:
1. Getting used to a tool.
2. ACtually painting/designing font and fitting in the above tool.
3. Testing it on all major OS (XP, Vista, LInux, Mac) on all major applications (firefox, IE, wordpad, notepad, etc.. )
It might take at least 6 months to come up with a good font.
That if you worked very hard with lot of dedication.
I recommend a goup of people to work instead of one guy working for this.

Try to do this
As a first step
use existing pothana font and some tool and modify the font with different name and get used to the tool, then only start painting the new font will make more sence.

కిరణ్, ఈ బ్లాగు మొదలుపెట్టి మంచిపని చేశావు..వనరులు కావాలనుకున్నవాళ్లకు కొంత చేయూతనిస్తుంది. ఫాంటును తాయారుచెయ్యటం ఆశామాషీ విషయం కాకపోవచ్చు..కానీ ఎక్కడో ఒకచోట మొదలుపెట్టాలి..తయారు చేసిన ఫాంట్లు అవి పబ్లిక్ డొమైన్లో ఉంటాయి కాబట్టి వాటిని ఎప్పుడైనా మనం మెరుగుపరచవచ్చు..ఇప్పటికే ఒక అభ్యర్ధి బరిలో దిగటముతో కనీసము ఒక ఫాంటైనా తయారవుతుందన్న ఆశ ఉంది.

ప్రస్తుతం నేను విండోస్ ఆపరేటింగ్ సిస్టమ్ తో పాటు వచ్చే గౌతమి ఫాంటును సర్వాంగ సుందరంగా ఎడిట్ చేస్తున్నాను. బహుశ ఇంకా 6 నెలలు పట్టే అవకాశం ఉంది. ఇప్పటికే సిస్టమ్ లో ఇన్స్టాల్ అయి ఉన్న గౌతమి ఫాంటును డిలీట్ చేసి నేను ఎడిట్ చేసే గౌతమి ఫాంటును ఇన్స్టాల్ చేసుకుంటే అద్భుతంగా ఉంటుందని భావిస్తున్నాను. దీనిని ఒక తెలుగు వాడిగా నా జాతి ఋణాన్ని తీర్చుకొనుటకు చేసే చిరు ప్రయత్నం మాత్రమే.నాకే బహుమతులు అవసరం లేదు. ఆశీర్వదించండి చాలు.
